INGREDIENTS

GARNISH: Candied Sage Leaves

  • ½ cup water
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2 sage leaves

DIRECTIONS

CANDIED SAGE LEAVES:
In a small saucepan combine water and ½ cup sugar over low-medium heat, stirring periodically to dissolve sugar. Place remaining sugar into a small baking dish. Prepare sheet of parchment paper for drying sage leaves.

When the sugar mixture has reached a boil, briefly submerge one sage leaf with tongs. Immediately transfer sage leaf to the dry sugar, coat thoroughly, and place on the parchment paper to cool.

BEVERAGE:
Place blackberries and sugar cubes into a drinking glass and smash with a muddler until berries and sugar are incorporated. Add grapefruit juice and briefly agitate with muddler. Fill glass with ice to the rim.

Top with seltzer water and garnish with candied sage leaves
